Program Abstract: The NSF-IUSE funded Change Leadership Development Program (CLDP) was launched by the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) to prepare graduate students and postdocs (GS/PS) to contribute to departmental and institutional systemic change to strengthen and transform STEM undergraduate education as they enter their faculty positions. GS/PS as well as early career faculty learn leadership skills by participating in a ten-session online course, and a three-day online Leadership Institute, where they develop and implement a change project or experience. At a virtual Leadership Summit, they presented and reflected on their experience while also receiving feedback from the community. Preliminary evidence suggests that participants effectively acquired the skills to become change leaders in inclusive evidence-based teaching, with the potential of influencing colleagues, departments, and institutions to affect the learning and persistence of thousands of STEM undergraduates.
