Lucas B. Hill, Ph.D. is an experienced researcher (III), evaluator, and organizational consultant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER). He is the director of research for the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL), which advances future faculty teaching development for improving undergraduate STEM education. He also co-leads the SEER Institute (theseerinstitute.org), which helps teams, change projects, institutions, and organizations advance their short- and long-term change goals through the SEER Process. His work primarily focuses on understanding and assessing the effectiveness of complex, large-scale, and collaborative higher education reform, particularly related to the preparation of faculty, the adoption of evidence-based pedagogical practices, and the broadening participation of underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) education. His portfolio consists of several National Science Foundation-funded projects including the NSF Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES Aspire Alliance, the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project, Belonging in Field Education, and the CIRTL Change Leadership Development Program. He earned his doctorate from Michigan State University in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education and sits on the editorial board of Innovative Higher Education.
