Dr. McIntosh is a distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has enjoyed a 25-year career in astrophysics as a ‘galaxy demographer’ exploring changes in galactic populations throughout cosmic history. Since 2008, Prof. McIntosh has developed expertise in enhancing math and science learning experiences to meet future STEM workforce needs. He has received recognition for his teaching and STEM education initiatives, including the 2016 University of Missouri System President's Award for Innovative Teaching. As the Director of STEM Education Innovation at the Missouri Institute for Defense and Energy, Dr. McIntosh continues his mission to empower STEM students of all backgrounds to reach their full potential, as well as facilitate fellow STEM educators adopt high-impact practices.
