B. Tyler Walsh is the Director of the Center for Higher Education Innovation (CHEI) at the University of Central Florida where he also serves as the University Innovation Alliance Fellow. In his Director role, Tyler is charged with elevating the impact and profile of CHEI and amplifying its role as an accelerator lab for student success and well-being at UCF and beyond. He provides leadership and project management for key strategic initiatives and collaborates with leading national partners in an effort to provide UCF students with a healthy and innovative student success ecosystem. Before joining UCF, Tyler was a Senior Program Advisor at the National Institute for Student Success at Georgia State University (NISS). In this role, he developed and managed projects with dozens of colleges and universities across the nation as they sought to dismantle barriers to student success, improve student outcomes, and eliminate equity gaps. Tyler also conducted research for the NISS using Chatbots to improve course-level academic outcomes and continues to pursue this research at UCF. He has experience in various student-support and teaching roles and these experiences inform and drive his passion for positively impacting students and the institutions that serve them.
Tyler holds Master’s degrees in both Anthropology and Political Science from Georgia State University and has a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Florida.
