Kamela J. Goodwyn, Ph.D. is a higher education professional, previous Dean of STEM programs and published author of STEM topics related to entrepreneurship and underrepresented communities. For nearly two decades, Dr. Goodwyn, has worked in higher education championing entrepreneurship and careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Goodwyn's attraction to STEM grew out of research completed for her doctorate on underrepresented populations in STEM and STEM entrepreneurship. The research results not only revealed the historical and gross underrepresentation of black and brown individuals in STEM fields, but the cruciality of introducing STEM entrepreneurship in K-12 and higher education.
Dr. Goodwyn previously served as a higher education administrator and strived to ensure STEM fields have diverse, highly-skilled workers for in demand industries. This work has shaped her professional passion for advancing educational causes that achieve equity for women and students of color. As Dean of STEM degree programs for over 5 years, Dr. Goodwyn ensured STEM fields have critically-needed, highly-skilled workers today and tomorrow
