Christine R. Rodriguez, Ph.D., is a Professor of the Practice in Biology and Associate Director of the Center for Academic Excellence at Fairfield University. Her work centers on inclusive pedagogy, the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the classroom, active learning strategies, and online and asynchronous learning. Dr. Rodriguez is passionate about elevating student voices through active learning practices, fostering an environment where students remain engaged, curious, and supported.
Dr. Rodriguez has facilitated numerous workshops on course and program design in higher education, with a focus on equitable and inclusive teaching practices. She is a core team member of the HHMI Inclusive Excellence 3 Science Collaborative at Fairfield University, where she focuses on professional development for STEM faculty, promoting inclusive teaching. Additionally, she has consulted on instructional video development for high school Biology outreach programs with Harvard University.
She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Harvard University/Harvard Medical School and her B.S. in Biology from Illinois Benedictine College/Benedictine University.
