Shannon is a passionate nurse educator bridging science and leading nursing students through innovative techniques. Shannon is developing her educator role with an unwavering commitment to improving the nursing workforce through her education. She is a current Doctor of Nursing Practice student, anticipating graduation at the end of the year, expanding her knowledge base to develop the highest level of professional nursing practice. Shannon recently completed the prestigious Apple-based Digital Innovators Program, where she continues to learn innovative teaching methodologies and evolving approaches to education for the current generation of nursing students.
Before becoming a nurse educator, Shannon was an emergency room nurse for seventeen years building her clinical foundation of nursing. As a leader in the emergency room, Shannon developed her passion for teaching through mentoring nursing students in the emergency room. Creating an environment to increase student engagement and involvement in learning is crucial to nursing education. Shannon has the desire to use evidence-based pedagogy techniques to incorporate innovation in the online classroom.
