Margery (Meg) Gardner is an Assistant Professor and Director of Teacher Preparation at Colgate University. She received a Ph.D. in Science Education in 2017 and was a public secondary science teacher in New York State. She teaches required coursework such as Seminars on Student Teaching as well as Science and Math Methods as well as courses such as Eco-Justice and Education. Her research explores critical models of teaching that open spaces for civic engagement and racial literacy development with an emphasis on the middle school level. She also seeks to understand how new teacher STEM identities emerge through situated factors such as experience, beliefs, and knowledge.
