I am a Professor of Biology Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics D'Youville University, Buffalo, NY.As a biologist and educator my goal is to provide this exposure while simultaneously helping undergraduate students to develop their STEM identity with the analytical skills necessary to approach questions about the patterns they see in the natural world as independent scientific investigators. My job is toprovide them with the background and opportunities they need to develop a broader mindset on their own and think critically and scientifically. While the majority of the courses I teach are for the Biology major, I do teach a number of general education courses that introduces topics and theories of biology to non-majors. I endeavor to instill in all my students an appreciation for the field of biology by creating connections to their own lives.micro-credentialed in Effective College Instruction with The Association of College and University Educators and The American Council on Education (ACUE) through the DYU Title III grant, I am micro-credentialed in Fostering a Culture of Belonging (ACUE), micro-credentialed in
