Lauren Jarocha is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Furman University, with a specialization on Physical Chemistry. She is a graduate of Carleton College (B.A.) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Ph.D).Her research explores how the quantum property of spin can be used to turn molecules into a miniaturized version of a magnetic compass. In her current role, she serves as the project lead for efforts related to fostering systemic curricular change under the umbrella of Furman's efforts to improve introductory education as part of LCC1 of HHMI's Inclusive Excellence 3 (IE3) initiative.
