Anna Newsome Holcomb is a teacher, educational researcher, first-generation college graduate, and proud Yellow Jacket. As Director of Retention and Completion Initiatives, Anna provides leadership on Georgia Tech's broad student success strategy, supports the implementation of the Institute's undergraduate enrollment strategic plan to expand access, and supports a range of ongoing initiatives and special projects that impact retention, persistence, and timely degree completion. Anna brings a philosophy of holistic student success to her work that prioritizes student well-being in parallel to academic achievement.
Anna earned her B.S. in Public Policy at Georgia Tech in 2008, her M.S. in Educational Research at Georgia State University in 2013, and her Ed.D in Higher Education Leadership and Practice at the University of North Georgia in July 2024.
