Laura Kyser Callis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Science & Mathematics at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. She is the co-Principal Investigator on the National Science Foundation funded project Discourses to Improve Student Conceptual Understanding in Inclusive Settings (DISCUS-IS, IUSE 2314358). She primarily teaches mathematics for teachers and introductory statistics, but has also taught Modern Algebra, History of Mathematical Inquiry, and Mathematical Modeling for Curry. Her research is on instructional strategies and policies for broadening and increasing participation in mathematics at both the introductory and advanced level. She earned her doctorate at Boston University. Previously, she has taught in community colleges, for Boston Public Schools, and in Nanjing, China. She lives in Stoughton, Massachusetts, with her husband and 8-year old son.
