Nathan Grau is a Professor and Chair of Physics at Augustana University where he has been teaching since 2010. Prior to that he was a postdoc at Columbia University from 2006-2010 after finishing his PhD in Nuclear Physics from Iowa State University. Grau's research has focused on the student of the strong nuclear force using the collisions of relativistic nuclei. Grau is a member of the PHENIX, sPHENIX, and ePIC scientific collaborations all based at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, New York. At Augustana, Grau has also been involved in implementing and improving on the liberal arts core curriculum including serving as the chair of the general education committee. Two years ago, along with Dr. Carl Olimb, he founded the Augustana STEM Scholars Program aimed at building a cohort of incoming underrepresented students in STEM.
