Program Abstract: Teaching Innovation Can Change STEM Higher Education For the past 15 years several researchers and teachers from a large university in the western US has developed a curriculum based on design thinking and innovation. They have instituted it as a requirement for all students with a selection of STEM majors. The class has grown to be the top ranked class at the university. Faculty and students see the concepts as core to problem solving and creative thinking skills which enhance learning in other disciplines. This presentation will highlight the research and share the curriculum with attendees.
