Program Abstract: In the College of Sciences at UTSA, work is moving toward a holistic faculty development plan for Fixed-Term Track Faculty (the term used for nontenure track faculty at UTSA). This involves: 1. guidance and clarification on the recently implemented FTT Promotion Process 2. opportunities for leadership/mentorship for FTTs 3. opportunities for professional development 4. transparency in the Annual Evaluation Process These processes should all feed into one another to allow FTTs a stronger, more holistic path to advancement, leading to a stronger sense of belonging and satisfaction, which should reflect in the classroom teaching, ultimately benefiting students as well as faculty.
