Program Abstract: In this session we present the results of a faculty development program called the 'Deep Teaching Residency' on the ways in which faculty adjusted their mindsets towards teaching their classrooms. We will explain the origins and operationalization of the Deep Teaching approach, the rationale for its immersive structure, and the reasons why residency participants were able to shift their mindset toward a paradigm that centered their thinking on the role systemic structural impacts on equity-based practices.
